Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR is a dual attention technique that allows someone to focus on their present experience of a past trauma. It is the most effective and strongly researched treatment approach for trauma therapy.

Using bilateral stimulation (following a light with the eyes, listening to alternating tones or pulses, etc) trauma memories are targeted along with any negative beliefs that may exist about oneself or netgative emotions and body sensations that correspond to that memory.
