Sexual Assault Response Teams (SARTs) effectuate a multi-disciplinary collaboration that unites its members in a coordinated, victim-centered approach to the intervention of and care for victims of sexual violence. Members include law enforcement, prosecutors, nurses and sexual assault nurse examiners (SANEs), advocates, and others who play a role in serving victims. SARTs seek to address both the service needs of sexual assault survivors and the needs of the criminal justice system.
Through the facilitation of SARTs, PASAC also coordinates trainings and cross-trainings for members in order to promote effective and appropriate responses to victims of sexual violence.
