Our 2021-22 Impact

Our mission is to support survivors, strengthen families, and empower communities. At Lotus, we see the goal of recovery as not only surviving trauma, but also opening up to the possibilities of hope, healing, and growth. Committed to ending child abuse and sexual violence, we are working to cultivate a collective, unified community that meets survivors with compassion and a culture that simply does not tolerate interpersonal violence.

Children’s Advocacy Center

Our Children’s Advocacy Program is based on a multidisciplinary (MDT) approach to the investigation, prosecution, and treatment of child abuse cases across the eight counties of the Purchase Region. In our child friendly settings, skilled professionals provide comprehensive services to help child abuse victims and their supportive family members through the entire process from crisis through long-term recovery.

Type of Victimization

In 2021-22,
Lotus served

502 children

and 391 supportive family members through our Children’s Advocacy Center.

I appreciated their kindness and patience above everything else. Their level of professionalism both over the phone, on the computer, and in person, was amazing. They were very considerate of our emotional state and gave us time and space to recompose. I was thoroughly impressed with the campus as a whole and all of the services that were offered.

Mission Impact

Safety

Over 95% of caregivers reported that their child felt safe at Lotus.

Healing

After receiving Lotus’s services, 84.3% of children and families reported reduced symptoms of traumatic stress.

Justice

Six Multidisciplinary Teams (MDTs) collaboratively supported safety, healing, and justice outcomes of child abuse victims and their families. One hundred percent of cases reported that all safety steps were taken to support children and families.

I feel our community is blessed by having Lotus as a resource for adults and children. Having clients that know they are part of a ‘team’ and that their ‘team’ of people are behind them seeking justice is something that I am honored to be part of. I have seen the difference in clients that work with Lotus and clients that do not and it is night and day. Having monthly meetings and knowing that I can reach out to other agencies to help me ensure that clients have access to resources is both important and comforting.
