DEEPEN UNDERSTANDING

SUPPORT SURVIVORS

Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act Becomes Law
The Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) creates and supports comprehensive, cost-effective responses to domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence and stalking. Since its enactment, VAWA programs, administered by the U.S. Departments of Justice and Health and Human Services, have dramatically improved federal, tribal, state, and local responses to these crimes. Read about how this reauthorization ensures survivors’ access to healing services, and supports programs to prevent sexual violence, from the National Alliance to End Sexual Violence.

STRENGTHEN FAMILIES

Announcing Our 2022 Legendary Partner
Earlier this week, Lotus traveled to Frankfort to attend the Children’s Advocacy Centers of Kentucky Legendary Partners awards event to recognize Leigh Ann Wiggins, investigative supervisor for protection and permanency with the Cabinet for Health and Family Services, for her remarkable contributions to our multidisciplinary teams. Governor Andy Beshear offered words of encouragement, support, and congratulations at the event. Thank you, Leigh Ann, for your commitment to keeping children safe! Learn more about Leigh Ann by watching our video.

EMPOWER COMMUNITIES

Research & Literature Library
The ‘me too.’ Movement presents this collection of resources as one of the many places survivors can start their healing journey. From memoirs that take you inside the mind of a survivor, to statistics and research that can propel healing or activism, this ever-expanding library is for you.
